W. ANTHONY "TONY" EVANKO (1953-)

After studying and making art in the 70's and early 80's Tony Evanko earned a B.A. in architecture in 1983 from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. In addition to his continuing artistic practice he worked with Antoine Predock from 1989 to 1996 as a senior associate before forming his own architectural practice. As an artist with a background in architecture, Evanko was invited as a critic, lecturer and professor to teach "Art in the Landscape" in the University of New Mexico, and to direct special seminars on "Art and Space" in the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua, Mexico; and the Universidad Nacional and the Universidad de Antioquia in Medellín, Colombia. In 2006 while working on a Fulbright Lecturing and Research Grant in Medellín, Colombia he founded the "Casa Tres Patios" a not for profit foundation dedicated to contemporary art. He now lives in Medellín, Colombia teaching, producing and promoting contemporary art and architecture.

2001 - The Ellen Ruina and Michael Rubenstein House, 100 Vernon Hills Court, Chapel Hill.  Bought in October 2005 by Elise and Christopher Bruce who did landscaping and added a pool.  Now for sale here.
