BENJAMIN BOSWOOD (BEN) TAYLOR, AIA
(1934-)

Ben Taylor grew up in Maple NC in Currituck County and graduated from the NCSU School of Design in 1958.  He worked in San Francisco, Italy, and Portsmouth VA for the Army Corps of Engineers then for Raymond Sawyer (his cousin).   He worked for Leif Valand from 1964-1969 and was a part time instructor at the NCSU School of Design  In 1969, he founded Envirotek with Bob Burns and Abie Harris and practiced architecture there for 32 years.  Since 2001, he has been Senior Architect at Integrated Design PA

2000 - Taylor designed this house for himself at 622 Daniels Street, Raleigh in place of an old ranch (bottom photo).  Addition in 2004.
