TMH Modern 2010 What's Raleigh's greatest secret? The Triangle area of North Carolina has the third largest concentration of modernist houses in America. We have more than anywhere else except Los Angeles and Chicago. TMH has the longest-running, professionally organized architectural tours in the region. In just a few hours, you will experience some of the area's best architecture and construction through rare and unique access to the coolest private houses. This tour's amazing lineup features eight Modernist houses and one iconic Modernist office. Proceeds benefit our ongoing Modernist documentation, preservation, and promotion programs. Photography is allowed and encouraged inside and outside all the buildings. Have a no-hassle afternoon and support sustainability!Although we are not architects, TMH honors the sustainability goals of national AIA's Walk the Walk program. By using shuttle buses instead of having hundreds of participants drive individual cars, we dramatically reduce the event's carbon footprint. Park in our central lot (directions below) and leave your driving hassles behind. No getting lost. No struggling with directions. No programming the GPS. No clogging the streets and annoying the nice neighbors. No parking problems. A bus from our fleet arrives at each house every nine minutes. The best part: converse with like-minded design enthusiasts while on board and at the houses. Hop on, hop off, at your leisure all afternoon and return to the free central parking lot anytime you wish. House details are below. Sponsor details are below that. And ticket information, along with directions to the free central parking lot, are at the bottom of the page. |
